Wild About Horses Art Studio, Joan Fenicle
I work in two-dimensional art most of the time, creating oil paintings and altered photographs—often of familiar New Mexico images that still intrigue me, but always looking for a twist, a play on
light, the unusual or untold story. Occasionally I construct a small shrine or other 3-D object from found treasures. Oils are my primary medium and I use several layers of transparent glazes to achieve the affect
of luminosity and light.
I am an active member in Rainbow Artists, a
multicultural, multi-racial, women's art collective in Albuquerque; am Photo Editor and undergroundARTS editor for albuquerqueARTS Magazine, and coordinate the twice-monthly ARTScrawls for the Albuquerque Art Business Association. I'm also a member Perspectives fine art photographers group in Placitas. See more work at www.backroadsnm.com
