W.H.O.A. (Wild Horse Observers Assn.): Dedicated to preserving the existence of Placitas' wild horses and acting as a community service advocate for residents who may have questions about or problems with the wandering horses. Call 867-5228 or 771-3359 for more information.

Wildlife Rescue: Mission is to rehabilitate and release juvenile to adult birds (protected and unprotected including raptors) and educate children in the classroom and Nature Center. Mammals are taken to nearby rehabilitation center that specializes in mammals. Call Linda at 867-8317.
